About Us
Where Comfort Meets Compassion — One Step at a Time
At Fundamental Foot Care, we believe no one should suffer in silence or lose their dignity over something as preventable as poor foot health. Our purpose is straightforward but deeply felt: to transform how people think about foot care — not as a luxury, but as a vital, necessary part of healthy aging and independent living. We exist to make expert, medically informed foot care accessible, compassionate, and routine, especially for older adults, people with chronic conditions, and individuals with special needs.
When your feet are healthy, your whole life improves. Mobility increases. Fall risk decreases. Painful daily experiences become comfortable ones. That is what we work toward with every patient, every visit.
Who We Are
Fundamental Foot Care was founded by Heather Fogg, RN, BSN, CFCS — a registered nurse and nationally certified foot care specialist who has spent her career serving older adults and individuals with complex health needs. Heather’s path to foot care nursing was intentional: after years in medical-surgical and cardiac care at Maine hospitals, she witnessed firsthand how preventable foot problems were quietly stealing mobility, independence, and quality of life from her patients. She founded Fundamental Foot Care to be part of the solution.
Our team includes certified foot care nurses, a director of operations, and office staff based in our Hampden location. We serve patients through in-office appointments, in-home visits, and partnerships with assisted living communities and care facilities throughout the greater Bangor region. Every member of our team is committed to the same standard: compassionate, skilled, unhurried care that respects the dignity of every person we serve.
Our Approach
We combine clinical expertise with patience and genuine personal attention. Every nurse on our team is credentialed through the American Foot Care Nurses Association (AFCNA), trained to work safely with medically complex patients, and skilled in the preventative and therapeutic care that makes the biggest difference in foot health over time.
We don’t rush. We don’t cut corners. We don’t leave until you’re comfortable and confident on your feet. For patients we see in their homes or facilities, we bring the same calm professionalism we’d offer in our office — and we take the time to build real relationships, because consistent trust is part of good care.
Our Mission
We provide expert, medically based foot care with compassion and dignity, ensuring seniors and those with special needs maintain mobility, comfort, and independence. We are committed to reshaping how foot care is understood in our society — elevating it as a fundamental component of healthy aging and whole-person wellness.
