About the Training Program
Our training is conducted at our Hampden, ME location and includes extensive hands-on experience with real patients under direct clinical supervision. Participants learn the full scope of medically based foot care — nail assessment and treatment, callus and corn management, skin inspection, infection risk identification, patient education, and documentation best practices. The program prepares nurses to sit for national foot care certification through the American Foot Care Nurses Association (AFCNA). Who Should Attend
This training is ideal for RNs, NPs, and APRNs who work with aging adults, individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes or peripheral vascular disease, or patients in long-term care settings — and who want to add a high-value, in-demand specialty to their practice. Many graduates go on to establish their own independent foot care practices. Training cohorts are kept small for an immersive experience.
